Maxine Casey Upon retiring from the U. of MD in 2000 and then very soon experiencing the loss of a loved one I became interested in making pottery. It started as a form of therapy but soon became a hobby that has brought me much joy. Most of my work is functional stoneware. Each piece of my work is marked with an image of a pelican which is a Christian symbol of atonement. I continue to take classes and workshops to further my pottery skills.
